# THE UNIQUE PATH OF KNOWING By Kyle Hinton We are born with a beginning. But from the moment existence is experienced, something new begins. We begin creating our own knowings. Every moment is an experience. Every experience contributes to memory. And from those memories come the knowings that belong to the individual. This means knowing cannot simply be transferred from one person to another. Knowledge can be transferred. A parent can teach a child. A teacher can explain an idea. A book can communicate information. Another person can describe an experience. But none of these can give another human being the knowing created by actually living that experience. Knowledge can be shared. Knowing must be experienced. NO TWO PATHS ARE IDENTICAL Every individual's journey through existence is unique. Two children can grow up in the same house. They can have the same parents. Attend the same school. Experience many of the same family events. And still become very different people. Because they have never actually lived the same life. They entered those experiences with different starting traits. They experienced their parents from different positions. They experienced one another. They encountered different people at different moments. And every previous experience changed the perspective through which the next experience was received. Therefore even when two people witness the same event, they do not necessarily have the same experience. The event may be shared. The experience of the event is individual. EXPERIENCE BUILDS UPON EXPERIENCE No experience exists completely alone. Every new moment is encountered by the person created by all the moments that came before it. An experience creates memory. That memory contributes to knowing. That knowing influences how the next experience is perceived. The next experience creates another memory. And the individual continues changing. Therefore: EXPERIENCE → MEMORY → KNOWING → PERSPECTIVE → NEW EXPERIENCE And the cycle continues throughout existence. This is why two people can begin with similar traits and eventually become profoundly different. Their paths separated. Their experiences separated. Their memories separated. Their knowings separated. Their perspectives separated. And each new difference influenced what happened next. THE INDIVIDUAL Within the Soul System, individuality is therefore not created by inheritance alone. Nor is it created by environment alone. We begin with inherited and Source-derived potential. Then existence happens to us. And we happen to existence. Moment by moment, interaction by interaction, consequence by consequence, we accumulate a history that belongs to no other individual in precisely the same way. That history becomes memory. Memory becomes knowing. Knowing contributes to who we become. This is why another person can give us knowledge but cannot give us their wisdom. They can tell us what they learned. They can warn us. They can guide us. Their knowledge may even change the choices we make. But eventually we must have our own experiences. Because until something has been experienced, it has not become our knowing. WE ARE NEVER FINISHED This also means personality cannot be understood only by asking: Where did I come from? We must also ask: What have I experienced since I arrived? The person who exists today contains experiences the newborn could never have possessed. Tomorrow adds more. Age adds more. Relationships add more. Loss adds more. Love adds more. Mistakes add more. Achievement adds more. Every moment contributes something. And because no other individual travels through exactly the same sequence of existence: every person's collection of knowings becomes unique. We inherit the beginning. We experience the journey. We create our own memories. We develop our own knowings. And through every moment of existence, we continue becoming someone who has never existed before.
